My love of comics (more history) part 2

1989- Bat-mania hit with the upcoming release of Tim Burton’s Batman. My brothers were searching everywhere for Batman memorabilia. We started going to comic conventions and what not, and they would buy all of these Batman comics, I wasn’t cool enough so I wasn’t allowed to buy Batman comics. I had to look at the other heroes of the time. But going to these conventions another world of comics was opened to me. They made comics about everything. Some series only made it a couple of issues… some only one issue. Kind of like a pilot. These issues intrigued me. Because though they weren’t mainstream and popular… I knew that they at least reached a few people. I usually was that person. I would read a comic only to find out that they didn’t make that many or that it was only one issue. But later on in life, I found that these people who did these comics didn’t just make one series and never write or draw again. They would go on to create and work on thousands of other issues. From there I knew that I wanted to do that. So what, I may not make something everyone will love, but if I could put something out even a few people liked, I would feel accomplished. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to put something out that gained wide attention, but that isn’t my main goal.
